What The Hell Is Going On Anymore

Getting honest with myself

I’m just tired of feeling like I’m going backwards.

I’m tired of watching the world spin its wheels, with leaders acting like they’re leading us anywhere but backwards, which might be right into the hands of total control by a technocratic double-talking institution.

That’s why one of my favorite parts of my Jewish heritage is Shabbat. For me, it’s less about being a stickler for making sure the lights don’t go on and off as it is about taking a break from the world.

What do I mean by the world?

Look around. That’s the world. Lol. Really, what I mean is that there are so many things vying for my attention:

  • Work

  • News

  • Politics

  • Other people’s bullsh*t

  • Salespeople

  • Crypto (scams)

  • Social media

I mean, what else…

  • The future

  • The past

  • Planning in the present

  • Healing

  • Living in the world with other people

(I feel like that pretty much covers it, but am I missing anything?)

When I say,”what the hell is going on anymore”, I’m not asking a question. I’m making a statement. I don’t expect anything to change.

I’m recognizing, with an exasperated colloquialism because I don’t know a better way to express it, that I feel lost.

So often, I feel completely lost.

Today, Pluto just moved into Aquarius (from Capricorn) two days ago, and Mars just moved into Cancer (from Gemini) today, March 25, 2023.

I’m not writing this piece to lecture anyone about astrology, but it’s so damn on the money with this feeling I have, with feeling lost.

What’s refreshing in my mind is that Mars has been in Gemini for the last few months – direct, retrograde, and direct, all completely in Gemini – and now it’s entering Cancer, where it’s moving 90° square to the ecliptic of the galaxy (that’s what the beginning of Cancer represents).

I don’t lean on astrology to lecture, like I said, or solve anyone’s problems. I point it out for my understanding, to instill a sense of comfort amidst the chaos.

The Sabian symbol Cancer 1° is interesting for me, and might be helpful for you in understanding what I mean:

CANCER 1°: ON A SHIP THE SAILORS LOWER AN OLD FLAG AND RAISE A NEW ONE.

KEYNOTE: A radical change of allegiance exteriorized in a symbolic act: a point of no return.

Without going into an explanation of the Sabian, I’ll just mention that there’s an inherent geometry to the 360 symbols that imparts a quality of wholeness. It’s confusing for our data-based modern science because it’s not dualistic – it’s geometric. It’s based on the solar system within the galaxy, not on the stars specifically.

We’re in a time of massive change, realignments of power within the world… I almost wrote “within human consciousness”, but I believe that human consciousness is part of the earth. I believe that humans are neurons of the earth, helping earth have a consciousness experience of itself.

Just as neurons are replaced to make way for a clean slate of neurons, humans have finite lives and return raw materials back to the earth.

Lowering an old flag and raising a new one

It’s a sailor’s duty to work as a part of a team that’s dedicated to the direction the ship is moving in, under the direction of the captain, and in allegiance to the tribe that’s represented by the flag that flies off the center mast of the ship.

Duty is no triviality. It can be a matter of life and death.

It’s a sailor’s duty to fulfill his/her responsibilities to the best of their ability, regardless of the flag that commands their allegiance.

So, in conclusion, in this transitional phase we find ourselves in today,

Perhaps to answer my own statement, what the hell is going on anymore, the best I can say and the best I can do, is be present to showing up and doing my best, regardless of the commander’s agenda or flag that flies above me.

As we move collectively in a new direction, beyond nationalism, what duty are you serving?
